Any journey begins with a single step in the right direction...
In 1999, we took the first step towards being a truly sustainable organisation when we realised that our primary driver of maximising customer satisfaction could not and should not be achieved without simultaneously minimising the environmental impact of our manufacturing processes.
An immediate decision was made to cease all solvent based manufacturing and we haven’t looked back since. At Smith & McLaurin we currently:
- Remove over 1000 tonnes of self-adhesive waste & aqueous waste away from landfill.
- Work closely with Scottish Water and Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) to maintain strict effluent discharge guidelines and;
- Are proud to be the first self-adhesive laminator in the world to receive FSC/PEFC dual chain of custody certification.
This focus on satisfying customer needs, while doing as much as possible to protect the environment through sustainable processes, is clearly consistent with us being a “Positively Different” company.
By applying proven manufacturing techniques to continuous product innovation, and adapting these to meet your exclusive requirements, we are able to develop bespoke project solutions which are mutually beneficial.
Our strengths primarily lie in:
- The manufacture and supply of rolls of pressure sensitive label-stock and ticket and tag materials from paper and synthetic substrates.
