REACH: and Smith & McLaurin Ltd (January 2009) : Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicals (REACH) became law on June 1, 2007, to streamline and improve the former legislative framework on chemicals of the European Union (EU). REACH places greater responsibility on industry to manage the risks that chemicals may pose to health and the environment. REACH applies to most common substances used in our day-to-day life. FSC/PEFC CoC Certification: We are proud to be the first self-laminator in the world to gain the dual FSC/PEFC chain-of-custody certification in 2007.
NAPM Certification: Additionally, our robust green credentials also includes the NAPM (National Association of Paper Merchants) certificate for our 100% recycled face materials.
Quality Management System ISO 9001:2000: Smith & McLaurin Ltd holds Certificate No. Q 09360 and operates a Quality Management System which complies with the requirements of ISO 9001:2000 for the follow scope: “The design and manufacture of adhesive coated papers, films and thermal coated paper to customer and/or company originated specifications. The reel size handling capability is 55mm to 1500mm wide, with a maximum diameter of 1000mm.”
ISEGA Certificate of Conformity for our HTS320: Certifies that “These products distributed by our company is an adhesive grade which are used for the reverse coating of labels for foodstuffs, food packaging materials and for blood bags as well as for laminating various materials.”
ISEGA Certificate of Conformity for our SP8000/8030/8035/8040: Certifies that “These products distributed by our company are adhesive grades which are used for the reverse coating of labels, especially intended for labelling fruits and vegetables as well as for laminating various materials.”
ISEGA Certificate of Conformity for our Syntag 2952/Syntag 3952: Certifies that “both these products manufactured by our company are thermal films which are employed for the printing of labels used in the field of foodstuffs.”
BS 5609 Section Two, part 4.1- Adhesion After Marine Immersion (PASS): Certifies that “Smith & McLaurin Ltd self adhesive label base reference Transfer PP96 Matt White /SP8000/ HG6'meets the requirements of BS5 5609 Section Two, Marine Exposure.”
